A video link is the richest input you can give an identifier, because it carries two independent signals: pictures and speech. Combining them is what lets a ten-second Short be traced back to a specific scene.

Step by step

Copy the video URL
A standard watch link, a youtu.be short link or a Shorts URL all work. Copy it from the share menu rather than retyping it.

Why combining vision and audio wins
Visuals alone can confuse a film with its remake or a series with its spin-off. Dialogue alone can be ambiguous when a line is generic. Requiring both to agree removes most of these failure modes and produces a much better-calibrated confidence score.
It also helps with edited content: a compilation, a reaction video or a review will often show a scene under commentary, where the transcript is about the film rather than from it. The visual channel keeps the answer anchored to what is actually on screen.
Clips that are hard to trace
Heavily edited fan edits with music replacing dialogue lose the audio channel entirely. Vertical crops discard background context. Text-overlay memes can dominate the frame and mislead. In all three cases, adding a manual screenshot of the cleanest moment helps.
Very short clips — under about three seconds — may not contain a usable frame or a full spoken line.

Links from platforms that block automated access cannot be fetched. The reliable universal method is to screenshot the clip yourself and upload the image, which works regardless of where the video is hosted.
