What you send us

Screenshots you upload, video links you paste and text queries you type. That is the entire set of content we receive from you. We do not ask for your name, email or payment details anywhere on the site.

Image retention

Uploaded images are transmitted to our server, forwarded to the AI provider for inference, and used to produce your result. We do not write your uploads to a long-term store of our own, we do not build a searchable archive of user images, and we do not sell them.

The AI provider processes the image under its own terms and retention schedule as a subprocessor. If you would rather no third party ever sees an image, do not upload it — that is the honest answer for any hosted AI tool.

Do not upload personal photographs, documents, or images containing other people's private information. The tool is for frames from published film and television.

What stays on your device

Search history and favourites are stored in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, we cannot read them, and clearing your browser data deletes them permanently.

Subprocessors

Hosting and edge delivery for the website; a hosted AI model provider for inference and transcription; and our backend platform for server functions. Each receives only what is needed to serve your request.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site ad tracking. Any analytics we use is limited to aggregate traffic and feature-usage measurement and is never used to build a profile of an individual visitor.

Your rights and contact

Because we do not hold accounts or identifiable records, there is generally nothing personal to export or delete on our side — local history is under your own control. For any privacy question, request or complaint, write to hello@whatmovieisthis.com and a person will respond.
